The Black Stallions Defeats Tournament’s Favourite & North African Champions Algeria to Qualify in style for one of the two Semi-Finals of the ongoing Africa Regional Sevens Men’s Tournament currently taking place in Abidjan the Ivory Coast capital.

In getting to this position, Nigeria opened their proceeding by beating the Niger Republic by 26 points to Nil. Nigeria went on to defeat the Benin Republic by 36 points to Nil in the second game and crowned it all in her last match of the day One against North African Champions and Africa Bronze Cup contender Algeria by 10points to nil.

Nigeria will face group A runners up Burkina Faso in one of the two Semi – Finals Cup, whilst host Ivory Coast will slog it out with Algeria in the Second Semi – Finals.

In the Plate Semi – Finals, Mali will face Benin, whilst Niger will lock horns against Guinea from 11am at the Institut national de la jeunesse et des sports. (INJS), Marcory in Abidjan today Sunday 17 September 2018.

Nigeria has the highest points for of 72points and and points difference of 72points with no point against! Thus the Best defence so far in the tournament with a clean record!
Algeria has 32points for and 15points difference haven conceded 17points. Benin has 14points for and a -58points difference in 3rd position and Niger has a 19points for and -29points difference. Meanwhile, in the other group, host Ivory Coast topped with 65points for and 53points difference. Followed by Burkina Faso who are in second position with 59points for and 35 points difference. In 3rd position is Mali with 20points for and -17points difference. Guinea has 10points for and -71points difference.

There will be a classification match between the losses of the Plate Semi – Finals, then the Bowl Final will be between the winners of the Plate Competition.

The 3rd Place play off will be between the two losses of the Cup Semi – Finals and then comes the Cup Finals between the two winners of the Cup Semi – Finals matches this morning.

The tournament will round up this evening with the presentation ceremony by the Rugby Africa President Mr Abdulazeez Bhoudja and the Ivorian Government Officials.
