NRFF General Manager; Jamie Goode has stated that the body has put in the necessary modalities for a smooth take-off of the Lagos League kicking off this weekend at the NIS pitch, National Stadium Lagos.

Goode outlined the games schedules of the upcoming league with two divisions consisting of four teams each.

Teams are expected to play six matches each as he urged the participating clubs to be disciplined and abide by the rules governing the fast-rising sport in Nigeria.

He said the League Management of all three regions are working hard to secure funding for their respective Leagues and thanked sports writers for their support towards Rugby. However, he urged them to show more interest and support NRFF programs nationwide as he thanked ‘CMB Building Maintenance and Investment Company Limited’ for supporting the Lagos League again this year.

8 teams are expected to storm the NIS on Saturday as defending champions; Cowrie Rugby Club will hope to kick off their title defense on a good note against The Nigeria Police (Lagos) Rugby Club.

Other teams include Gosar RFC, Racing RFC, Eko II, Lagos RFC and newcomers Kings College Old Boys RFC
